For situations where we want to issue store credits to our customers (instead of refunds), one way is to issue them with Coupons or Gift Certificates. Obviously Coupon is a one time use while Gift Certificate can be used multiple times and I suspect to some extent this will influence our decision.
Would be keen to hear from those who have implemented this, which is your preferred approach, and why?
For those who go with Gift Cert, how do you issue Gift Cert to your customers?
1. Sign in as Internal User and buy the gift cert, then assign to a particular customer
2. Create the gift cert record via VPASP Admin |

Hi jack, I think I prefer option number 2, because it''s much easier for us to manage our gift cert. |

We have used both for different reasons. Coupons for promos and coupons and gift certs for service recovery, Say offering a loyal customer £20 for a problem they''ve had.
We used to use coupons for this, but had problems with limiting it to a single use. The best thing to use is a gift cert as it can only be used to the value of. We just create the in the admin panel.

Thanks guys. Yeah, our thoughts along similar lines as the gift cert can just be given to one particular customer (unless he chooses to share it) and only used once. |
