Hi
my website has a huge server response time ( about 1.8 / 2.5 seconds )

my competitors has 0.5 0.8

and google suggest to have 0.2 (!!!)

I have read all tips from google and I managed to improve the download significantly. I failed, however, to improve the response time
https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/?url=www.stockelettrico.it

Do you have some suggestion?
where can I check? and most importantly, what can I do?
Maybe you should check the server settings ISS?

You could try this:
Speed Tester for ASP - BYZ186:
http://www.bigyellowkey.com/speed-tester-for-asp-from-bigyellowzone-byz186.asp
That''ll help narrow down if it''s the server-side processing which is taking the time (eg queries taking a long time), or the connection that throws the html back to the browser, or if it''s just a javascript/css visible delay rather than a server/comms issue.

It should also help narrow down which panel-elements are taking the time as you can enable/disable the panel bits one by one via the layout manager and see the actual raw asp-processing time.

You can also add speed-tester messages wherever you want in your asp code to record exactly how much time has elapsed since the last message.

On a couple of sites that I''ve been working on, I''ve been installing that and switching on the speed-tester messages by default while it''s in a test folder/domain so that we can track how long different bits are taking to run and whether the problems are server-side, client side, etc.

Other generic asp tools which you might find handy (ie other than our vpcart addons), which can also be incorporated into vpcart are:

Error Logging for ASP - BYZ188:
http://www.bigyellowkey.com/error-logging-for-asp-from-bigyellowzone-byz188.asp

Site Suspender for ASP - BYZ124:
http://www.bigyellowkey.com/site-suspender-for-asp-from-bigyellowzone-byz124.asp

Keep-Alive Sessions for ASP - BYZ177:
http://www.bigyellowkey.com/keep-alive-sessions-for-asp-from-bigyellowzone-byz177.asp

Those 3, plus the speed-tester, are ones that I usually install whenever I do a big upgrade/install, because they''re really useful.
