Thankfully we don''t have to deal with this special eco-tax anymore, but we were looking to figure out how to implement it on our version of VPASP. California has or had an eco-tax that was added on the price of goods for the extra disposal fees associated with them. Are we the first to come across this issue?

Could you use the handling fee for just the products that need to have the tax added possibly?

This would allow some products to have a "tax" applied while others do not.

Hope this helps.

Thanks

How do you know for sure if a product has tax added to it or not?

look at the other fields from admin, and we can know that the product has or hasn''t the tax.

what i want to suggest you,, rather than you use xtaxbyproduct,,
you may want add the eco-tax percentage into existing California state record for statetaxrate field.
take you example if a normal californian tax is eg 8%,, and eco-tax for california is eg 5% then just set california state with tax rate 0.13 in the field statetaxrate.
would you think my solution acceptable?
diego.
