Someone can explain to me what is difference for "Merge With Database" in the language page when we add the new language?

Hi swampthink,
Same with me, I also confuse with this feature, have tried both setting with yes or no setting, but still cannot find the difference, anyone can explain for this feature ?

from my quick testing, if you choose Merge With Database with No: the table language will not be added for the new language, just add a record, maybe just for information.
if you choose Merge Wth Database with Yes: the table language will be add the new language and can be use properly.
correct me if i am wrong.

Hi crawler,
I think I have tested using "Merge with database" set to "No" and to" Yes" but still no luck, cannot see the difference, but If I set "update existing" to "Yes", the table language will be added the new language but if I choose "No" then no changes will occurs on ltable language, CMIIW
Can you please confirm on this at your end ?

hi ryo,
if you try option "Yes" first, then the table languages will be added with new language.
after that, if you try with option "No", you will not see any change, so you are right there is no difference in this case.
but it will be different if you switch the steps like this:
- prepare fresh vpcart, here the table language only contains english
- let''s say i wanna add french lang, but i try Merge with database = "No" first.
- french language will NOT be added, you cant use french language even you choose it from the language list (english, french).
- now try Merge with database = "Yes".
- then french language will be added now and you can use it properly.
that''s what i found so far from my investigation :)
