Hi Vaheh,

Never try this before,I think VPASP hosting server only located at US at the moment, but if you want to use CDN for your hosting, there are many hosting provider support for this, like GoDaddy and CloudFlare.

Cheers

Hi Vaheh,

I would suggest either CloudFlare or MaxCDN. I am personally using these two and so are my clients.

If your website visitors reside in multiple locations (different countries) then, there is a good chance using a CDN makes sense. Remember that you don''t need millions of visitors a day for a CDN to pay off. Even with low traffic (~1,000 Unique Visitors a day) you should at least consider it (perhaps the Pay As You Go packages will be of interest).

Things that you should look for before signing up for a CDN :

a) Speed/Performance from various locations

b) Pricing

c) Functions :
1. What should the CDN be able to do?
Some things can be considered basic functionality, like Origin-Pull and Gzip compression. Other things are not so common, like a custom CNAME and SSL Certificate for secure webpages.

2. What should you, as a user of the CDN service, be able to do?
- view (real-time) statistics on CDN usage
- upload files via FTP
- do a Purge-All via an API
- override the browser caching headers your origin server sends

d) Others
- Ability to scale
- Multiple locations
- 24/7 Customer Service

Other Recommended CDNs :
a) Akamai (if you have the budget)
b) XCDN
c) KeyCDN
d) CDNSun
e) Amazon Cloudfront

***Most of them offer a trial run. Check them out first before committing on a plan/company.

Don''t forget to share your results

Thank you.

Best Regards,
Daniel

Are you using Cloudfare or not using Cloudfare?

Also, if you are using Cloudfare, which package are you on?

Do let us know :)

Thank you.

Daniel

Hi Alessandro,

If your traffic only from one country, it would be useless to use CDN, and for server I would recommend to use strong server with SAS HDD, it''s better than SATA HDD.

If you using CDN just for one country, seems I agree with ryo. It is useless. For strong server HDD, maybe you can try for SSD technology. SSD technology is the faster and more efficient alternative to traditional hard disk drives (HDD), but more expensive.

SSD is good for the speed, but for now SSD still to expensive, so I prefer SAS HDD with raid technology, well at least I can relax for now

Hi Alessandro,

Yes, if your site is catering to just one country only, you probably would not need a CDN.

But, then you will need to ensure that people from all part of your country is having a good load time browsing your site. For an example, if your site is hosted on a server in New York, people visiting your site from California, Texas, Hawaii etc might still have a slower load time compared to all those visiting your site from New York and it''s surrounding areas. If this is the case, you might want to look at CDNs catering to locality.

And like Ryo pointed out, SSD is a little expensive. Perhaps you can check around...

Thank you.

Best Regards,
Daniel
