Hi,

I upgraded the shopping cart from v5 to v7 and everything is working fine. However when viewing the credit cards in the shopping cart admin they appear to be encrypted (not readable). I noticed that the xencryptkey was different from v5 to v7 so I changed it in both shop$config.asp files. However when I do this I can no longer login to the shopping cart admin. Any cc orders processed in v7 display fine in the shopping cart admin.

Does anyone know why I can''t read the cc # processed in v5 using the in the new shopping cart v7?

Thanks!
Jeff

Hi Jeff,

Are you storing cards in your database? This is a bit of a no no and i would strongly recommend deleting any card data ASAP.

We have a module to allow you to empty your database of all historical card data.

Visa and MasterCard look on this quite seriously.

Thank you.

Hi,

I understand about the CC#s.

But do you know why I can''t see them in the new cart but have no problem seeing them in the old cart.

Thanks

Hi Jeff,

Not really. The most obvious is that the encryption key in old store does not match the key in the 2 config files.

There is one config file in the CONFIG folder in the root and there is another config file in the admin CONFIG folder.

Did you update both?

Thank you.

yes, I updated both config files and when I changed (just the encryption key) it would not let me log back in.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Jeff

Not without looking at your site unfortunately.

You will need to reset the username and password for the admin after changing the encryption key so you can get access back.

We have a module in our download center that enables you to do this.

Reason is that the admin login is tied to encryption key so even if someone hacks into your admin they will not be able to read the user details.

Thank you.
