I noticed that there has been a fair amount of spam in our product reviews lately.

Shopreviewpro.asp has been using up some bandwidth but the biggest use of bandwidth for our whole VPASP cart has been
captcha_image_frame_tellfriend.asp and
captcha_image_frame_reviewproduct.asp

It appears that the Tellafriend feature in VPASP is being used as a mail server for people to communicate any message they want privately.

Other companies using VPASP might want to look at their bandwidth logs to see if this is happening to them as well.

Perhaps Simon at BYZ may have some suggestions to correct this issue?

Hi Bob

Try logging into your administration and going to:

Advanced Settings > Software Configuration

Do a search for :
xcaptchamethod

Change this to:

recaptcha

This will increase the security of the process for you.

Thanks Cam,

We'll see if recaptcha gets this under control.
I don't like providing a doorway on our website for private messages especially when they are in a language I can't read.
