Hi,
Just a quick question.
In version 7 (upgraded from 5.5)
How can I stop text from the specialoffer field from showing up in the item listings in the shopaddtocart, shopthanks, and the email that gets mailed to customers.

I'm faithful that it is all located in one area but I can't seem to find it. (It's not listed in my xcartfields )

perhaps you can ask vpasp support helpdesk, they should have idea. It seems to involve changes of the code somewhere.

Thanks Diego.
As a temporary band-aid, I appended the specialoffer info to the keywords table and then cleared out the specialoffer field. Not the ideal scenerio but it solves the problem for now.

Hi Dustin,

the special offer text display in the cart is called from shopproductfeatures.asp.
Look for these 3 lines of code (line 100 approx) and comment them out.

If not IsNull(StrSpecialOffer) then
NameIncart = NameInCart & "<br />" & strSpecialOffer
end if

This should stop display in the cart and order emails

The good news is...it worked.

The bad news is....according to my count....I am now up to 47 beers that I owe you.

Due to legal and physical limits pertaining to alcohol...I can't give you all 47 in one night.

So...um....I owe you, yet, another beer.
Same situation as above except for version 8 and I searched here for the answer and found this.
So 1) I have a bad memory 2) Your solution helped twice 3) I hope you haven''t taken up beer drinking because this is going to cost me a fortune.
