Does anybody have a documented successful proceedure for migrating an Access database to MySQL on a Windows 2000 server?

I have attempted it, but get all kinds of errors on the web site after the migration and need to make a number of changes to a number of files.

I had to go back to the Access database and re-group because of too many errors.

Hi,

We have an addon available that will assist with the migration from Access to MySQL.

You should ensure that this add on is used for these database migrations rather than manually attempting the migration as these scripts have been written to ensure that the referential integrity of the database is maintained in the migration.

You can download the Access to MySQL or Access to SQL Server migration tools from:
http://www.vpasp.com/virtprog/vpaspcustomer.htm#addons

Thank you.

I will give that a try. Thank you.

Will this script also make the neccessary changes to the asp files? I found that the syntax in the shotheaders.asp file needed to be changed on line 1672 for the SQL query.

Ok....I deleted all the products from the access database adn the conversion seems to be successful.

The additional problem is the syntax on line 1672 in the shopheaders.asp file. It has to be changed for the admin pages to display properly.

I hope I do not run into any other related issues as I continue with my store.

Cheers

I have two remaining issues with the migration.

1. the random products is broken.

ADODB.Field error '800a0bcd'

Either BOF or EOF is True, or the current record has been deleted. Requested operation requires a current record.

/shoprandomproducts.asp, line 212

2. I have a large list of products that I am importing. Everything seems to import as expected except the category. The correct number gets imported, but the product will not associate with the category unless I edit the product manually and set the category.

Any suggestions?
